Teen Cycling

8th-11th Grades

Times: Wednesday 7am or Thursday 4:30pm

The RealRyder® Indoor Cycle turns, tilts and leans as you ride, providing the fluid sensation of an outdoor road bike. As you move through an expanded range of dynamic, functional movements, you get a more comprehensive, functional total body workout — with special emphasis on activating essential core muscles.

Functional Movement and Strength: Boys

Current Grade: 3rd-7th grade

Location: The Zone Fitness and Training

Mondays: 4pm: June 16th-August 18th

This program will help provide a foundation for fitness to benefit these youth into adulthood.  They will learn proper form and technique using everyday movements in order to gain strength and confidence.  In other words, the focus will be on improving weaknesses, imbalances and asymmetries in an effort to improve functional movement patterns and athletic performance, all while learning how to avoid injury.

Athletic Performance and Conditioning: High School

Current Grades: 8th-11th

Monday-Wednesday-Friday 1:30-3:30

Begins week of June 16th and ends the week of Augst 18th

*This is intended to be a 2 hour class each day.  Registration fees will be $8/hour or $16/each two hour class.  Each hour will count towards your total registration numbers for a bulk discount.

Designed for high-school athletes, this series is designed to improve the following fundamental components of sports training:

  • Agility
  • Balance
  • Explosiveness
  • Core strength
  • Cardiovascular Endurance
  • Mental Toughness
  • Overall Athletic Performance

This program is being offered as a supplement to the summer school weight lifting program.   Focus throughout the program will be to enhance strength and speed and agility gains. Movement proficiency is heavily emphasized and progress is measured.

Outdoor Cardio Bootcamp

Current Grade: 6th-11th

Tuesdays: 8-9am OR 1-2pm

Thursdays: 8-9am OR 1-2pm

Begins week of June 16th and ends the week of Augst 18th

Location: Will meet at the parking lot at Jaycee Park, across from tennis courts.

Bootcamp is a combination of strength, cardio, muscle endurance, flexibility, core, and functional movement patterns. You get EVERYTHING you need in 1 class!  This class involves outdoor workouts using bodyweight strength moves as well as various equipment to help build strength and stamina.  Please bring a beach towel and a water bottle to each class.  Other equipment will be provided for you.

Designed for middle-school athletes, this series is designed to improve the following fundamental components of sports training:

This series will focus on teaching and enhancing motor awareness and building base levels of strength. Basic movement patterns are taught and built upon to master increasingly challenging movements. Athletes will also improve athletic potential and reduce injury risk.

Girl Power and Girl Power Junior

Current grades: 3rd-7th grade

Location: The Zone Fitness and Training

Wednesdays: 4pm: June 18th-August 20th

Girl Power is a youth program for girls in 3rd-7th grade designed to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle, build confidence and provide the girls with an opportunity to give back to our community.  Each session will include discussions on issues that are relevant to their developmental age, such as social media and eating disorders, and provide them with a platform to express their opinions as well as a physical exercise portion.  This group will meet at The Zone each week, but will spend some time outdoors participating in outdoor sports, activities, lessons and exercise.    Girl Power Jr. Consists of 3rd and 4th grade, while Girl Power is 5th-7th grade.  Both groups will meet at the same time, but will participate in different activities.

Core Strength for the Young Athlete

Current Grades: 3rd-7th

Location: The Zone Fitness and Training

Thursdays: 10-11am: June 19-August 21st

This one hour class will focus on improving core strength and stability.  Core strength involves abdominals, low back, glutes, and hips.  A strong and stable core is essential when performing various agility and power moves required in all sports.  Various equipment such as resistance bands, medicine balls, stability balls and weights will be utilized.

Functional Movement and Muscle Awareness: Boys 3rd-8th grade

Introducing a new program designed for boys in 3rd through 8th grade!  The program will be divided into 2 groups, one consisting of 3rd and 4th graders; the other for 5th-8th graders.  Both groups will meet at the same time each week, with different instructors.  Each week the groups will also come together for part of the session for large group activities!
